Tables

Wyn Enterprise offers powerful table scenarios that allow you to visualize, analyze, and interact with your data in flexible and insightful ways. Whether you need simple tabular views, advanced aggregation, or performance metrics dashboards, Wyn’s table scenarios cover a wide range of business requirements.

This guide provides an overview of the three primary table scenarios available in Wyn Enterprise:

Why Use Table Scenarios?

Tables are foundational to business intelligence as they organize data for easy reading, comparison, and analysis. Each scenario serves different use cases:

  • Data Table: For detailed row-level data display with sorting, filtering, and formatting.

  • Pivot Table: For multi-dimensional aggregation, grouping, and cross-tabulation of large datasets.

  • KPI Matrix: For performance metrics dashboards, combining numeric values with charts and visual indicators.

Understanding the strengths and features of each table type helps you select the right tool for your reporting needs.

1. Data Table

The Data Table scenario presents raw or filtered data in a straightforward tabular format. It is ideal for displaying detailed records such as customer lists, transactions, or inventory.

Key Features:

  • Display of rows and columns with text, numbers, dates, and images.

  • Sorting, filtering, and paging support.

  • Formatting of columns (e.g., currency, dates).

  • Supports drill-down and hierarchical data.

Example Use Case:

Show a list of insurance claims with columns for claim number, date, amount, status, and an associated image or icon.

2. Pivot Table

The Pivot Table scenario is designed for aggregating and summarizing data. It groups data by rows and columns, allowing users to analyze measures across multiple dimensions dynamically.

Key Features:

  • Interactive row and column grouping.

  • Support for subtotals, grand totals, and dynamic rearrangement.

  • Aggregation functions (Sum, Average, Count, etc.).

  • Data editing in Focus mode.

  • Conditional formatting and filtering.

Example Use Case:

Analyze sales performance by region and product category, showing total revenue, average order value, and number of transactions.

3. KPI Matrix

The KPI Matrix is tailored for business performance monitoring. It combines numbers, graphs, and images in a single matrix to provide a rich, visual representation of key metrics.

Key Features:

  • Display of numeric values alongside mini-charts like bar, bullet, and pareto graphs.

  • Conditional formatting and interactive sorting.

  • Supports automatic scrolling for large data sets.

  • Row numbering with customizable headers and scope.

  • Rich customization of appearance and behavior.

Example Use Case:

Track insurance claim KPIs such as number of claims, average loss, and claim trends using a combination of numbers and small bar charts in a dashboard.

How to Create Table Scenarios

Creating table scenarios in Wyn Enterprise generally follows these steps:

  1. Add the scenario: Drag the desired table scenario from the Dashboard Toolbox onto the design canvas.

  2. Bind your data: Select the dataset and assign data fields to rows, columns, values, or visuals.

  3. Format and customize: Adjust data formats, add filters, set sorting, and customize appearance using the Inspector panel.

  4. Analyze and interact: Use built-in features like sorting, filtering, drill-down, or automatic scrolling to explore your data.

  5. Publish and share: Save and deploy dashboards to share insights with stakeholders.
