The Modify Column Type transformation command allows you to change the data type of an input column. For example, change to number data type a column that has numeric values but with data type of text or change a datetime input column to date data type.

Configuration

After you add a Modify Column Type ETL command to the ETL designer and connect an input to it, you need to select:

• The column to set its data type

• The new data type for the column

• The name of the new column
