The Pareto Graph displays each category’s contribution to the cumulative total of a measure, making it easy to identify the “vital few” that drive the majority of results.
To add a Pareto Graph:
Click the + icon next to Columns and select Pareto Graph from the dropdown menu.
A new column is created with a single Value data binding slot.
Drag and drop a numeric data attribute (such as Order Quantity) into the Value slot.
Note: The Rows binding slot defines the categories being compared, while the Pareto Graph shows their cumulative contribution to 100%.
To configure the appearance and behavior of the Pareto Graph within a KPI Matrix:
In the Data Binding panel, locate the Pareto Graph section.
Click the ellipsis (⋯) menu next to Pareto Graph, and from the dropdown, select Settings.
This opens the Pareto Graph Settings dialog, where you can adjust the visual properties of the Pareto Graph, including its height, target threshold, and target line color.
Setting | Description |
|---|---|
Height (%) | Controls the vertical height of the Pareto Graph within the KPI Matrix cell. By default, this value is set to 60%, which determines how tall the graph appears relative to the cell height. Increasing this value makes the graph appear larger. |
Target (%) | Defines the target threshold for the Pareto line, typically representing the cumulative percentage point at which a specific contribution level is reached. By default, this value is set to 80%. |
Target Color | Sets the color of the target line that runs horizontally across the Pareto Graph. You can choose a color from the color picker. |
The Target (%) represents the threshold where the cumulative contribution meets the target percentage (commonly 80% in Pareto analysis).
Adjusting the Height (%) affects only the visual height of the graph and does not alter the data values or the cumulative distribution.
Use the Target Color to make the target line stand out for easier visual reference in KPI evaluation.
