A Floor Plan scenario allows you to visualize data over a custom image layout, such as a building, factory, or restaurant floor. This visual approach makes it easier to identify patterns, monitor key metrics, and support better, location-aware business decisions.
You can create and manage custom floor plans using the Resource Portal. For steps to create your own floor plan, see Create Floor Plan.
A restaurant chain might display revenue or occupancy across various sections of a dining layout. Each zone or table shape can reflect performance metrics with color or size variations.
To design a floor plan scenario in Wyn Enterprise:
In the Dashboard Toolbox, go to Data Visualization.
Drag and drop the Floor Plan scenario onto the dashboard canvas.
To load a floor plan image:
Click Select Floor Plan in the Action Bar, or
In the Inspector tab, set the Floor Plan property to your uploaded resource (e.g., Restaurant_Layout_FloorPlan).
With the Floor Plan scenario selected, go to the Data Binding tab.
Choose a dataset to bind. Once loaded, the available data fields will appear in the binding panel.
Area: Bind a spatial field to associate shapes in the floor plan with data rows.
Color: Bind a numeric field to visualize values (e.g., revenue or traffic) through color.
The shapes in the floor plan will dynamically display aggregated values, such as the sum or average of a measure, depending on your configuration.
In a restaurant layout, each shape may represent a dining section. The color of each section could reflect the average revenue using a color gradient.
You can refine how data is displayed in the scenario by:
Renaming fields
Setting display units (e.g., $, %, K)
Creating hierarchy fields
Applying aggregation methods (e.g., sum, average)
For example, you might use average aggregation on the Revenue field to see average sales per section.
For more on these options, refer to the Data Attributes section.
Wyn dashboards support powerful analysis and interactivity tools, including:
Filters
Conditional formatting
Drill-downs (where applicable)
These can all be applied via the Action Bar in the dashboard designer.
You can apply conditional formatting to the Location field to highlight a specific section—such as emphasizing Section 3 for further review.
Fine-tune the look and feel of your scenario using the Inspector tab. Options include:
Title: Add or edit the chart title
Legend: Show or hide legend information
Area Border: Change the outline color of floor plan zones
Base Color: Set the default background color for areas
Auto Gradient: Enable automatic color scaling based on data values
When Auto Gradient is enabled, the system selects color shades from the configured Palette to visually differentiate high and low values.
