Bubble EChart

Bubble ECharts provide an intuitive way to visualize multi-dimensional data. Each bubble represents a data point, positioned by two variables (X and Y axes), while the size of the bubble reflects a third quantitative measure.

Create a Bubble EChart

  1. In the Resource or Document Portal, click + Create > Create Dashboard.

  2. Select Blank Dashboard or a template and click Create.

  3. From the Custom Visualization tab, drag Bubble Chart (ECharts) to the design area.

Bind Data

  1. Select the chart and choose a dataset from the Choose Data dropdown in the Data Binding panel.

  2. Assign dataset fields to:

    • Values: Bubble size

    • Axis (Category): X-axis

    • Legend (Series): Category groups

    • Tooltip: Hover information

You can also enable drill-down using the Mode dropdown (Default, Pre-set Targets, Pre-set Path).

Format Data Attributes

Click the gear icon in each data field container to:

  • Aggregate values (Sum, Avg, Min, Max, Count)

  • Filter data

  • Rename fields for clarity

  • Remove fields from the chart

  • Customize Tooltips (appearance, content, and expressions)

Analyze Data

Use the Action Bar to explore and refine your data:

  • Filter: Focus on relevant data

  • Sort: Rearrange values logically

  • Data Binding: Change or update fields

  • Reference Line: Add static markers for comparison

  • Focus: Expand the chart to full screen

Customize Appearance

Use the Inspector Panel to modify chart appearance. Common options include:

Chart Style

  • Maintain Color Assignments or choose a Color Palette

  • Graph Opacity and Auto Gradient

  • Add padding or use Custom ECharts Option for advanced styling with JavaScript

  • Use Custom Behavior for real-time interactivity

Animation

Set Entrance Animation, Delay, and Duration

Data Visualization

  • Enable Automatic Carousel

  • Show or hide Zoom Axis and configure size, color, and length

  • Include or exclude dimensions with null values

Data Labels

  • Toggle visibility, format display patterns

  • Adjust font, label position, and handle label overlap using the Moveable option

X & Y Axes

Configure both axes independently:

  • Toggle visibility of axis, lines, titles, tick marks, and grid lines

  • Set Min/Max, Interval, Label Format, and Overflow Behavior

  • Choose axis line and grid styles (Solid, Dashed)

  • Adjust font and label directions
