Pie ECharts provides a clear, visual way to represent proportions and distributions. Combining the familiarity of traditional pie charts with interactive features, Pie ECharts help users explore data segments dynamically and insightfully.
Go to the Resource or Document Portal.
Click + Create > Create Dashboard.
Select a Blank Dashboard or a template and click Create.
In the Custom Visualization tab, drag the Pie Chart (ECharts) onto the canvas.
With the Pie EChart selected, choose a dataset from the Choose Data dropdown.
Drag fields into the following containers:
Values – Measures represented as slice sizes.
Axis (Category) – Labels for each slice.
Legend (Series) – For multi-series grouping.
Tooltip – Fields shown on hover.
Optional: Choose a Drill Down Mode (Default, Pre-set Targets, or Pre-set Path) for interactive exploration.
Use the gear icon in each data field container to customize:
Aggregation Method – Summarize data (Sum, Average, Count, etc.).
Quick Functions – Apply dynamic calculations (e.g., rankings, moving totals).
Filter – Limit data to relevant values.
Rename – Relabel fields for clarity.
Remove – Delete a field from the chart.
Tooltip Settings – Customize look and content of hover tooltips.
The Action Bar above the chart includes tools for deeper analysis:
Filter – Refine the displayed data.
Sort – Order slices by size or category.
Conditional Visualization – Highlight key values.
Data Binding – Reassign or modify chart fields.
Reference Line – Not typically used for Pie ECharts but available.
Show Data – View underlying data in a table.
Focus – Expand the chart to full-screen mode.
Maintain Color Assignments – Choose manual color assignment or select a palette.
Palette – Available if manual color assignment is off.
Graph Opacity – Adjust transparency.
Start Angle – Set the starting rotation angle of the chart.
Radius – Define the chart’s inner and outer radius.
Corner Radius – Soften slice edges.
Auto Gradient – Enable gradient coloring.
Custom ECharts Option – Add JavaScript for custom rendering.
Custom Behavior – Inject JS logic for dynamic behaviors.
Choose an Entrance Animation (e.g., SlideIn or BackIn).
Set Delay and Duration for animation timing.
Automatic Carousel – Highlight one slice at a time with auto tooltips.
Include All Dimensions – Show slices with null category values.
Show Data Labels – Toggle label visibility.
Display Pattern – Format labels with series name, value, and percentage.
Value / Value as Percentage / Series Name – Choose what appears in labels.
Location – Place labels Around or On Slice.
Show Connecting Line – Toggle or customize connector lines.
Line Width / Color – Adjust connector appearance.
Display Mode – Choose Auto or All for label display.
Font Settings – Customize font style, size, and color.
Moveable – Manually reposition labels in the preview if they overlap.
Tip: For advanced customization, use the Custom ECharts Option under Chart Style to edit label lines (solid, dashed, or dotted) and more.
