The HBar Graph displays a simple horizontal bar inside each cell, scaled to the measure value, making it easy to visually compare magnitudes across rows.
To add an HBar Graph:
Click the + icon next to Columns and select HBar Graph from the dropdown menu.
A new column is created with a single Value data binding slot.
Drag and drop a numeric data attribute (such as Sales Amount or Order Quantity) into the Value slot.
Note: The Rows binding slot is shared across the entire KPI Matrix — it defines the row categories, while the HBar Graph column displays the corresponding bar lengths for each row.
To configure the appearance and behavior of the HBar Graph within a KPI Matrix:
In the Data Binding panel, locate the HBar Graph section.
Click the ellipsis (⋯) menu next to HBar Graph, and from the dropdown, select Settings.
This opens the HBar Graph Settings dialog, where you can customize the height, display options, and colors of the horizontal bar graph.
Setting | Description |
|---|---|
Height (%) | Controls the vertical height of the HBar Graph within the KPI Matrix cell. By default, this value is set to 60%, which determines how tall the bar appears relative to the cell height. Increasing this value makes the bar appear thicker. |
Show Data Label | A toggle option that, when enabled, displays the data value label directly on the bar. By default, this option is disabled. |
Show Axis Line | A toggle option that controls the visibility of the axis line behind the HBar Graph. By default, this option is disabled. |
Axis Line Color | Appears next to the Show Axis Line toggle. Allows you to select the color of the axis line using the color picker. |
Show End Point | A toggle option that, when enabled, displays a circular marker at the end of each bar. By default, this option is disabled. |
End Point Color | Appears next to the Show End Point toggle. Allows you to select a color for the end point marker using the color picker. |
Positive Color | Sets the color for positive values in the HBar Graph. By default, this color is green. |
Negative Color | Sets the color for negative values in the HBar Graph. By default, this color is red. |
The HBar Graph is used to compare positive and negative values within KPI cells using horizontal bars.
You can enable the Show Axis Line and Show End Point options to provide additional visual context.
The Positive and Negative color settings help distinguish between gains and losses or between above- and below-target performance at a glance.
