Annotations let you add contextual notes directly to a dashboard scenario. Use them to highlight milestones, explain unusual trends, or guide users with insights that may not be immediately obvious from the data alone.
Annotations behave like comments or footnotes, improving the interpretability of dashboards without altering the visual structure.
Add context to outliers or data spikes.
Communicate insights, alerts, or explanations to end-users.
Link to additional resources such as reports, dashboards, or external URLs.
Select the dashboard scenario where you want to add a note.
Click the Add Annotation button that appears on top of the scenario.

After an annotation is added, this button changes to Edit Annotation.
In the Annotation Editor, enter your note.
Use the formatting toolbar to style text (bold, italic, underline).
You can also add hyperlinks that jump to:
External URLs
Another dashboard
A report
Click OK to save the annotation.
To view or edit an annotation:
Select the scenario and click the Annotations button again to read the note.
Make your changes and click OK.
